    How does SpiceBokx work?

    Subscribe to a weekly plan that best fits your needs (don’t worry, you can always skip a week or cancel your subscription anytime!).Once you’ve picked your meal plan, you can choose your meals from our weekly rotating menu. Each week, you’ll need to select your meals by Wednesday, 11:59pm CST. If you aren’t able to select your meals by the deadline, no worries, we’ll pick out some of the chef’s favorites for you! If you’re placing your first order after the Wednesday at 11:59 pm CST deadline, your meal delivery will be scheduled for the following week.

    Your meals will be delivered to your doorstep on Sundays between 4-9pm CST. They arrive in an insulated bag with ice packs. Be sure to grab your meals and refrigerate, or heat & eat your them before 9pm CST.

     

    Does SpiceBokx deliver ingredients for me to cook my meals or are the meals already cooked?

    Unlike “meal-kit” companies that deliver ingredients for you to cook the meals, our chefs cook the meals for you, so all you have to do is heat and eat! We understand that cooking can be enjoyable, but we also understand that you’re busy and would sometimes prefer to spend time doing other things you love!

     

    Are there instructions for preparing the meals?

    Yes! Each meal comes in a microwave-safe container and heating instructions on how to enjoy your meal. 

     

    Where does SpiceBokx currently deliver?

    We deliver in the chicago-land area. Email us at info@spicebokx.com to see if we deliver in your area!

     

    How many meals can I choose from?

    Every week, you’ll have the option to choose from 7 different meals; 4 vegetarian and 3 non-vegetarian. Feel free to mix and match or choose one dish 10 times if you just love it that much! Our chefs design the menu to provide a variety of different flavors and ingredients so you can rest assured you'll be enjoying different dishes all the time. We'll also be incorporating new meals on our menu on an ongoing basis. 

     

    How long are the meals good for?

    All of our meals are produced fresh every week, and therefore should be consumed within 5-6 days of delivery. Some meals have a slightly longer or shorter shelf life, please follow the "use by" date on the container. Of course, always use your best judgement. 

     

    Once I place an order, when should I expect my weekly delivery?

    After you place an initial order, you will receive healthy, ready to eat meals every Sunday. 

    You should expect your meals to be delivered on Sunday evenings between 4-9pm CST. 

     

    Do I need to be home to when my meals are delivered?

    You do not need to be home if you have a doorman, a mailroom or a porch where we can safely leave your meals in an insulated bag with ice packs. (If this is not an option, our delivery member will call to give you a 30-60 minutes delivery estimate window so you can plan accordingly. Please contact us if you need to provide specific delivery instructions for your delivery. 

     

    What happens if I don’t select my meals by the Wednesday 11:59 CST deadline?

    If you don’t make a selection by the weekly deadline, based on your preference (vegetarian or non-vegetarian) and our chef’s favorites, we'll deliver you a variety of nutritious meals from the weekly menu per your meal plan!

     

    What should I do with the packaging and food containers?

    Meal Containers:

    Our meal containers are fully recyclable! They’re microwave and freezer safe, and are 100% recyclable.

     

    Ice Packs:

    We recommend either reusing the ice packs for yourself or donating them to local food banks, shelters, etc. To dispose and recycle, you can cut the packs open and empty the non-toxic gel into the trash, which will mostly evaporate. The plastic wrapping can then be recycled. The eco-friendly insulated liner is completely compostable, so you can compost the material inside the liner and then recycle the outer bag portion.

     

    What should I do with my insulated delivery bags?

    Please email us at info@spicebokx.com to schedule a pick-up for the insulated bags within 30 days of receiving your bag. It’s best to schedule this on a Sunday when you are expecting your meal delivery and can return the bags to your delivery driver. If you aren’t able to return the bag within the 30 days, your credit card on file will be charged a replacement fee of $15 for the delivery bag. 

     

    Can I pause or cancel my subscription?

    Absolutely! If you’re going to be out of town or won't need your meals for upcoming week(s), or need to cancel your subscription, simply email us at info@spicebokx.com. Please make sure to pause or cancel your subscription by Wednesday 9pm CST to avoid any charges for the upcoming week's meals. 



    What is your refund policy?

    At SpiceBokx, we strive to provide a satisfaction guaranteed policy. We’re always looking for ways to improve our product and your experience. If you’re unsatisfied with your meals, please let us know within 7 days of the delivery of your meals and we’ll do everything that we can to rectify the situation. Based on the circumstances, we may provide you with a full or partial refund or store credit for future meals. 

      

    Can I freeze my meals?

    Even though our meals taste best when eaten fresh, you can freeze them if you aren’t able to enjoy them by their “use by” date. Simply freeze your meals prior to the "use by" date, and when ready to enjoy, add a couple of minutes to the heating time and reheat from frozen, without thawing. We recommend confirming that the food is reheated to 165 degrees, the same as reheating from fresh!
